Back to School – Lunch Containers

Now that you know what you’re packing, you gotta have something to pack it in, right? I’m a big fan of reusable containers. Below are some of my favorites.

If you don’t want to use disposable plastic bags, these silicone bags are a good replacement. Just remember to get enough so you don’t run out and don’t have to wash them every day. When it’s not easy for you, you won’t use them. That’s why I only pick ones that are dishwasher safe. I’m never gonna hand wash these suckers. Currently this 18 pack is on sale for $15.19.

I’m not a huge fan of bento boxes. They’re big and awkward. They don’t fit well into a lunch bag or back pack, plus they take up a ton of space in the dishwasher; or even worse, you have to hand wash them. Instead I’ve always used the Rubbermaid Sandwich Kit. Built in ice pack and the small cups are perfect for snacks and fruit.

If you have to go bento, Sistema has my pick. Every piece can go in the dishwasher and it’s not overly clunky. Sistema has some other great containers too. I like their salad version too.

I use these Thermos Insulated Food Jars for hot food. They’re great for soup, pasta, leftovers, and even grilled cheese. You cut a grilled cheese into strips, and it’s a perfect fit. I don’t use the reusable spoon that comes with it.

What containers do you use for school lunch or lunch at the office? Can’t wait to hear from you!! Love, TC
