Makeup Remover

Every night before I wash my face, I remove my makeup. I’ve tried many different types of the single use makeup wipes, and I just don’t like them. I always feel like they leave a film behind. Most of them either break me out or are too drying. My cleanser just wasn’t cutting it to get all of my mascara and eyeliner off, so I’d wake up with dark circles. I went searching and found a better alternative.

I use Norwex’s Makeup Removal Cloths. They’re the freaking bomb! First off, totally reusable. Not that I’m overly green conscious, but it’s nice not create more trash each night. They only use water to remove the most stubborn makeup. I’m not kidding!! It’s basically a super soft suede cloth that with water turns into a high-powered makeup wipe. I love that it doesn’t leave a film behind. They come in a pack of three. I usually use them three or four times before I dump them in the laundry hamper. I also love that these don’t count as liquid when I travel and pack easily.

I’ve used these to remove waterproof mascara and long wear foundation. We used to use these to get my daughter’s cheer competition makeup off as well. These clothes don’t irritate my sensitive skin, and they don’t cause me to break out. I use one side for my eyes and the other side for my face. After I’ve taken off my makeup, I rub the cloth against itself under hot water to clean. I hang it up to dry, and it’s ready to go the next night.

When using my charcoal mask, I use these clothes to help rinse it off. I feel like it helps get rid of the junk the mask just pulled from my pores. If I use it for a mask removal, it goes straight in the hamper after I rinse it out. A pack of 3 wipes is $21.99. I haven’t tried the reusable cotton rounds yet, but I think those are next. I’m interested to see how they hold up, and how they work with my toner. I’ll keep you posted.

Do you use makeup wipes? Are you look to make your beauty routine more sustainable? Can’t wait to hear from you!! Love, TC

  1. Good to know! I will look at the Norwex cloths. I have used Neutrogena eye makeup remover for years which gets the waterproof mascara off, but I like this idea (and that they are reusable). Thanks!!

    1. I’ve used both the Neutrogena & Lancôme eye makeup remover but they always leave me feeling oily. The clothes are great because it’s only water. Let me know what you think if you try them!
