Home Upgrades – Family & Living Rooms

After the paint, we really only needed a decor refresh in these two rooms. I started with the rugs and went from there. 😎

For the family room, I wanted something relaxed and easy. I went with another rug from rugs.com. I really liked how fast they shipped and it was easy to return as well! (I returned four 😉) I got a faded rug in tones of gray, cream, and navy. I knew I wanted navy as my accent color in this room. I got the 9×12 for this space. It was on sale for only $389 which is very reasonable. I looked at some that were over $5000. Way too much for me!

This is the Oxfordshire rug. The pinkish areas are really more cream colored. I was hesitant from the picture but so happy with it when it arrived.

I added accessories from Target, Kohls and Amazon. We did get a new ceiling fan from Hampton Bay as well. Plain navy velvet pillows and gold mirror came from Kohl’s. The navy and cream pillows I got at Target.

For the living room, we got a new sofa because what we had before was yellow. I added new lamps and a new rug. We paired down the accessories in there and updated some with purchases from Home Goods online. I haven’t found anything that I want to put on the walls. Still looking…

We got the Kara chofa at Haverty’s. I really wanted a gray chesterfield sofa, but my husband really liked this one and it was delivered in under two weeks. Who was I to say no? It came with the pillows, and I’ll update those once I find something I like.

I got the Caspian rug to go with this room. By far, it’s my favorite one I purchased. I like that it’s has a little more glamorous look without being over the top. Again, this was on sale for only $259.

Once again easy updates that made a huge change to the look and feel of the space. Those wrap up the changes on the main level of our home.

What are some easy decor changes you’ve made? Any recommendations for good wall decor? Can’t wait to hear from you! Love, TC
